Early completion system

A graduate school student at OUAVM can apply for ‘Early Completion’ which is provided in Article #6 of Graduate School Rule if he/she completes the requirements for early completion (Article #2 of Early Completion Rule).

If you consider to apply for early completion, you should consult with your advisor or stuff of Admissions and Educational Affairs Section.

The requirements for applying

To apply for early completion, you must fill the all requirements of the followings;

  1. You have no leave of absence period,
  2. You are not the person who is admitted as a study period extended student,
  3. You have payed your enrollment fee and all tuition fee,
  4. You passed the all proceeding examination which you had taken,
  5. You are expected to get all required credits by the date of your early completion,
  6. You are the person who is recommended by Program Coordinator,
  7. You are the person who has performed very well in your study*1 or 2.

*1: For master’s program, the person who has performed very well is the person who falls any of the followings;

  • The person who has one or more academic papers which first authors are the person,
  • The person who has gotten required credit with very good grade (26 or more credits are gotten, 90% or more of them are grade ‘B+’ or upper and 10 credits or more of them are grade ‘A’ or upper),
  • The person who are admitted as a high performance person in study by ‘Graduate School Education Committee’.

*2: For doctoral program, the person who has performed very well is the person who falls any of the followings;

  • The person who has three or more academic papers which first authors are the person, and at least one of them is particularly excellent,
  • The person who has two or more particularly excellent academic papers which first authors are the person,
  • The person who has five or more academic papers which first authors are th person.

Procedure

If you will apply for ‘early completion’, you must submit the application for ‘Early Completion’ to Admissions and Educational Affairs Section by the end of May for September graduation, by the end of November for March graduation.
