Common Practice Courses

You should consult with ‘Admissions and Educational Affairs Section’ before your registration if you will take these ‘Common Practice Courses’.

  • Seminar on Domestic Field Work
    [Aims] This course is aimed to acquire skills and techniques to make plan of survey including preliminary preparation and preliminary survey, to survey on the field and collect the data, and to analyze the results and make report of survey, in domestic field work.
    This course requires 60 or more hours of practice on the domestic field.

    [Report of Achievement]  *You must submit it after your practice.
  • Seminar on Academic Presentation
    [Aims] This course is aimed to improve your abilities of presentation, analysis and solving problem, and aims to understand significance, position and contribution to society of research in specialized field, through make oral or poster presentation at a conference including preliminary preparation and making achievement report for the presentation.
    This course requires 15 or more hours of instruction by your advisor.

  • Seminar on Corporate Work
    [Aims] This course is aimed to learn issues and effort of companies or society and to improve practical ability to conduct research through research activities such as survey, analysis and experiment implemented in cooperation with host company or public institution conducting joint research,
    This course requires 60 or more hours of practice on the company or the public institution.
    [Confirmation Note of Implementation]  *You must get sign or seal of the person in charge of host company or public institution for each day of your practice.
    [Report of Implementation]  *Your advisor must submit it after your practice.
    [Report of Achievement]  *You must submit it after your practice.
  • Oversea Field Work 1
    [Aims] This course is aimed to introduce a methodology required to conduct a field study abroad, including such activities as research preparation, preliminary studies, research planning, implementation of field research activities, analysis of results and report writing.
  • Oversea Field Work 2
    [Aims] This course is aimed to conduct technical cooperation activities such as animal breeding, animal feed management, hygiene and health among others required in animal agriculture, and to improve your abilities to identify technical problems and to propose their solutions, through a dispatch as a Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer of JICA.

Courses for Expert Training in HACCP

  • HACCP System Construction Exercise
    [Aims] This course is aimed to learn the procedure for constructing the HACCP system introduced at the food manufacturing and processing site through the practical activities in the classroom and group work in accordance with the international standard “Codex General Principles of Food Hygiene”.
    This course will be delivered as an intensive course (mainly in the summer vacation), so you should mind when you register it.
  • Food Related Regulations and Food Manufacturing / Processing Facility Maintenance Theory
    [Aims] This course is aimed to understand the danger of microorganisms and the necessary steps required for food hygiene management, and to learn the laws, regulations, policies and manuals related to food hygiene management. In addition, this course includes the practical training to maintain food production facilities/equipment, and to learn the inspection and maintenance procedures for representative food processing equipment.
    This course will be delivered as an intensive course (mainly in the summer vacation), so you should mind when you register it.

Courses for Expert Training in Diversification of Primary Producer

  • Business Administration Basics for Regional Industry Promotion
    [Aims] To promote regional industry, it is essential to have vital local enterprises. This course is aimed to learn basic knowledge for business administration and local industry promotion through lectures and discussions of case studies of food and agriculture companies.
  • Corporate Strategy
    [Aims] This course is aims to learn marketing methods, corporate strategies and marketing research methods through lectures and case studies. In addition, this course includes the practical training for modeling of corporate strategies.
    Incidentally, you must have gotten the credits of ‘Business Administration Basics for Regional Industry Promotion’ before you take this course, since this course is for the students who already have the basic knowledge of management.

Master’s Degree Program of Animal and Food Hygiene

This master’s degree program is aimed to learn knowledge and skills on hygiene management and quality assurance of foods including livestock productions based on international standards for food safety, and to acquire excellent practical abilities and applicability, through specialized education on food safety management system compliant with international standards.

This program requires 32 or more credits to complete. If you complete the requirements for this program, you will be awarded the degree of ‘Master of Animal and Food Hygiene’.
