The 2019 OUAVM International Exchange Party was held at Communication Hall in Kashiwa Plaza on November 29 (Fri.).
This annual event is held to express OUAVM’s appreciation to regular supporters of international students (such as related extramural organizations, local residents, faculty members and Japanese students acting as mentors) and to promote friendships with international students. This year, approximately 90 people attended.
President Kiyoshi Okuda first expressed his appreciation to related organizations for their support of international students and offered words of encouragement to such students.
OUAVM Alumni Association Chair Yuzuru Nishida then gave a speech and proposed a toast as a representative of the honored guests to start the event in earnest.
The Obihiro University International Students’ Association (OUISA) Chair also gave a speech, and new international students were introduced. Some performed dances, generating warm applause. The international students chatted with others as they ate, and engaged in discussions with faculty members, student tutors and contributors from outside the university.
