Mohammed Gana Yisa, Federal Republic of Nigeria Ambassador to Japan, visited OUAVM on December 2 (Sat.) to pay a courtesy call on President Kiyoshi Okuda. After the president provided an outline of the university, the ambassador outlined the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The ambassador highlighted the importance of agriculture in breaking away from the oil-dependent economy, and exchanged views in regard to the possibility of more international students in OUAVM, which is located in Tokachi, where agriculture and livestock industries thrive. The ambassador also talked about his visit to OUAVM while studying at Hokkaido University, and the meeting proceeded amicably all the way through.
The Ambassador also met Sarumoh Bolu Muhammad, an international student from the Federal Republic of Nigeria in his second year of the Master’s Program in Animal and Food Hygiene at the Graduate School of Animal Husbandry, to talk about the student’s studies in the university and life in Obihiro.
