I conduct statistical analyses using large-scale data called Dairy Herd Improvement (DHI) records, which are collected from dairy farms across Japan, to investigate factors related to the productivity and health of dairy cows. In particular, I have focused on heat stress tolerance—an issue that has become increasingly severe with the progress of global warming—and studied its relationship with milk yield and reproductive performance. By working with data on hundreds of thousands of cows, I aim to capture overall trends that are difficult to observe at the level of individual farms and to provide insights that contribute to the sustainable development of dairy farming. Harnessing the power of statistics and data science, I am engaged in research that provides scientific evidence to address challenges in the field.
