On July 18, 2019, a ceremony to mark the renovation of the university library was held in the entrance hall on the first floor. The remodeling was started in August 2018 to update the aging facility and provide optimal spaces for diverse learning styles.
At the ceremony, OUAVM president Kiyoshi Okuda thanked those who carried out the renovation and highlighted the new library’s improved educational functionality and environment, as well as its role as a hub for the development of people to serve society.
Masao Yamazaki (Deputy Director-General of the Department of Facilities Planning and Disaster Prevention within Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) also gave a congratulatory address as an honored guest, underlining OUAVM’s vital role related to expectations in regional areas. Mr. Okuda and others then cut a ceremonial ribbon to mark the library’s renovation.
The ceremony was followed by a tour of the library, providing opportunities for discussions on its effective use as a place of learning for OUAVM students.
