On March 14, 2025, online training was held for the staff of the Research Centre for Tropical Diseases and Vector Control (RTC Lab) at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources, and Biosecurity (CoVAB) at Makerere University, Uganda. With the theme of “Tick dissection,” Assoc. Prof. Rika Umemiya-Shirafuji gave a brief lecture first, followed by an explanation while a “live” dissection was performed in the laboratory of NRCPD. This was the second training session on dissecting hard ticks, conducted via Zoom screen sharing using the camera attached to the stereomicroscope. It was a valuable opportunity for both universities.
