Dr. TIWANANTHAGORN is a former JICA participant at NRCPD, and this visit was supported by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Short Invitation Researcher Program. The joint research was also partially supported by JSPS Core-to-Core Program. Dr. TIWANANTHAGORN has held a special seminar entitled “Situations of leishmaniasis in Thailand and studies on persistence mechanism” during the visit. Further active joint research on vector-borne diseases between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Chiang Mai University and NRCPD in the future is expected.
