Dr. Damdinsuren BOLDBAATAR, the Senior Researcher of Institute of Veterinary Medicine, Mongolia has finished the joint research on ticks and tick-borne diseases with Prof. Xuenan XUAN at National Research Center for Protozoan Diseases (NRCPD) for two months and returned home on 7th of July, 2018.

Report

Dr. Damdinsuren BOLDBAATAR is a former JICA participant and postdoc at NRCPD, and this visit was supported by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Short Invitation Researcher Program. The joint research was also partially supported by JSPS Core-to-Core Program. Dr. BOLDBAATAR has held a special seminar entitled “Understanding of Ixodid Tick Biology (blood digestion, reproduction) and MoAs of tick control agents” during the visit. Further active joint research focused on ticks and tick-borne diseases between Institute of Veterinary Medicine, Mongolia and NRCPD in the future is expected.
