25 Jul 2025

1st NRCPD seminar of FY 2025 has been held.

NewsReport

The 1st NRCPD seminar of FY 2025 was held at PK hall on 23th July 2025. On that day, a heatstroke alert had been issued, and the seminar began with Prof. Inoue’s remarks “Let’s engage in heated discussions in the air-conditioned PK Hall.” In the seminar, a total of seven postdoctoral fellows and project assistant professors, and thirteen PhD students gave presentations and a total of 27 people participated.
We were also fortunate to hear a valuable talk from Professor Almazán, a research visitor from Mexico. Her presentation gave us an opportunity to learn about wildlife and tick-borne diseases in an environment completely different from our own here in Obihiro. The presentations by the postdocs and PhD students covered a wide range of topics, from epidemiology to molecular biology. As each speaker came from a different field, the discussions that followed were, true to Prof. Inoue’s words, lively and intellectually stimulating. We hope that the experience of presenting, engaging in discussion, and sharing research across labs will contribute to improving the quality of our own research moving forward.
