President’s Awards for Scientific Research (Sri Lanka)

The President’s Awards for Scientific Research was awarded to Sri Lankan researchers who were involved in our recent collaborative research conducted in Sri Lanka. The event was held on 6 April 2021 in Sri Lanka. In this study, we demonstrated that Babesia sp. Mymensingh is a virulent Babesia species capable of causing clinical babesiosis in cattle. The findings of our study have been published in “Journal of Clinical Microbiology” in 2018. The article titled “Genetic Analysis of Babesia Isolates from Cattle with Clinical Babesiosis in Sri Lanka” can be found at the website https://jcm.asm.org/content/56/11/e00895-18.long”.

We congratulate the awardees for their achievement.
