On September 16, 2023, the NRCPD Alumni Meeting was held in Kampala, Uganda. Ten participants (former graduate students, JICA trainees, etc.) from Uganda, Professor Hiroshi Suzuki, Professor Naoaki Yokoyama, and Associate Professor Rika Shirafuji from the NRCPD attended the meeting. The participants gave speeches on their current work and research activities after self-introductions. We shared with each other the knowledge and skills they have acquired during their stay in Obihiro and the challenges they are currently facing in Uganda.
This meeting is held regularly as part of the Joint Usage/Research Center Project to strengthen international networking. Due to the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 infection, the previous meeting with alumni in the Philippines was held online, but fortunately, we were able to have the face-to-face meeting in FY2023.
