Sri Lanka visit March 24 – 29, 2019

 We visited Sri Lanka from 24 to 29 March. The purpose of our visit was to conduct a preliminary tick survey in cattle in Sri Lanka as well as to have discussions with our collaborators to furthering our research collaboration.

1. Tick survey in Kandy district

 We have visited cattle farms in Kandy and collected ticks from the infested animals in order to identify the tick species.

2. 

 We had a meeting with our collaborators Drs. S.S.P. Silva (Director, Planning, Department of Animal Production and Health) and H. kothalawala (Head, Animal Virus Laboratory, Veterinary research Institute) and Dr. Dr. N. Wedasinghe, Director General, Department of Animal Production and Health, Sri Lanka. Various issues related to our research collaboration were discussed.

3. Tick survey in Gampaha district

 Cattle farms in Gampaha district were visited and ticks from the infested cattle were collected.
