Visiting to Philippine Carabao Center and University of the Philippines Los Banos, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

NewsReport

On 8th to 12th, December 2019, Prof. Kawazu, Prof. Suzuki and Assit. Prof. Suganuma visited to Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) and University of the Philippines Los Banos, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UPL-FVM). Carabao (Water buffalo) is the symbolic animal in the Philippines and is used as a draft animal and for production of animal products. PCC is a leading research institute for water buffalo such as diseases, breeding and development of animal products. In this visiting, a collaborative research plan about zoonosis from water buffalo was discussed among researchers. In addition, we visited UPL-FVM and gave the introduction of NRCPD and lectures about vector born protozoan diseases.

This visiting is financially supported by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Core-to-Core Program and the Project for Joint Usage/Research Center from Ministry of Education.
