GAMRC special lecture and workshop (March 21-24)
GAMRC (Research Center for Global Agromedicine) special lecture and workshop were held at Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine on March 21 (Tue) to March 24 (Fri). The lecturer was Professor Yrjö T. Gröhn from College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University. He gave us a special lecture entitled “Introduction to Infectious disease modeling: SIR models, Reproduction ratio, Herd immunity” and workshop about “Mathematical and epidemiological modeling of infectious diseases – a hands-on-workshop”. The workshop was a part of a Cornell summer course, which has been offered annually at Cornell University and other locations around the world for the last ten years. We also discussed livestock diseases in Hokkaido and are going to promote international research collaborations.
