Professor Murray Clayton from the University of Wisconsin–Madison gives a short course on statistics

OUAVM invited Professor Murray Clayton from the Department of Statistics in the College of Letters & Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from November 19 to December 2, 2019.

Through collaborative research with scholars in various fields, including plant physiology and ecology, Professor Clayton has developed and recommended user-friendly statistical methods that best suit statistical goals and data.

During his fourth visit to OUAVM, he offered the five-day Short Course of Statistics 2019 for graduate students at the Research Center for Global Agromedicine, and 26 students joined the course. Statistics are essential for scientific studies to ensure objectivity, and this course was intended for statistics users to understand the basic concepts of statistics as a tool and ideas about designed experiments. The course gave a vibrant learning experience as it engaged students in interactive lectures and practical training using the statistical software R. The students have already voiced their support for Short Course of Statistics II.
