Fees and Tuition

Entrance Examination Fee, Enrollment Fee, and Tuition

International students have to pay the following entrance examination fee, enrolment fee, and tuition. However, government-sponsored students, students of the Special Selection (Animal and Food Hygiene Program only), special auditors and special research students from universities with an exchange agreement do not have to pay them.

Enrollment Fee and Tuition Waiver

There are cases where all or half of the enrollment fee and tuition is waived or payment deferral is granted when a privately-funded student has difficulty in paying them. However, the waiver or moratorium (delay in payment) is not given to non-regular students such as research students.

Waiver/Deferral of Enrollment Fee
Application requirement a In a case where a prospective undergraduate student’s main financial supporter dies, or where the prospective undergraduate student or his/her financial supporter suffers from a natural disaster within one year before admission.
b In a case equivalent to the preceding clause that the president of the university acknowledges a student deserving the waiver/deferral.
c In a case where a prospective graduate student difficulties in paying the fee for economic reasons but has an excellent academic record, or in the case where a prospective graduate student is in the same situation as mentioned in the previous clauses.

Waiver/Deferral of Tuition
Application requirement a In the case where a student has difficulty in paying the tuition for economic reasons but doing very well in his or her studies.
b In a case where a student’s financial supporter dies, or where a student or their supporter suffers from a natural disaster, within six months before the application for the waiver/deferral (one year before admission if the student is in the first semester of the first year).
c In an equivalent case to the preceding clauses where the president of the university acknowledges a student is deserving of the waiver/deferral.
*To be eligible for a waiver/deferral, a student needs to have paid tuition, except for the semester for which the waiver/deferral is requested, by the date the application is submitted.
Submit application to Student Life Supporting Staff of the Student Educational Support Section
Period of application 1st Semester: Early April (The application form is available from mid-February to mid-March.)
2nd Semester: From late September to early October (The application form is available from mid-July to early September.)
Notification of the result 1st Semester: Late May
2nd Semester: Mid-November (The student will be notified by the Student Educational Support Section and announcement will be posted on the bulletin board.)
